Features[]

Ksirtet is a tetromino game for the KDE environment (found for exemple in the Kubuntu linux distribution). "sirtet" is simply the word "tetris" in reverse, with the initial "K" standing for KDE.

Specs[]

  • No wall kick
  • No hold piece
  • One preview
  • No ghost piece, but a "shadow" of the falling tetromino is shown below the playing field
  • Ctrl-left and Ctrl-right (by default) will instantly move the falling piece as far as possible to the left or right (against a wall or an other piece). This is very enjoyable at high speed, while giving a consitent experience between different speeds. It somehow compensates for the fact that pieces lock instantly when touching the ground or a piece below them.

Scoring[]

At level 20, the rewards are as follow:

  • 1 line:   800 points
  • 2 lines: 2000 points
  • 3 lines: 6000 points
  • 4 lines: 24000 points

Some points are also awarded for soft drop (1 point per cell, but only if the soft drop key was pressed when the piece locks). Apart from this, no additional points are awarded.

World-wide highscores[]

The worldwide highscore feature can be enabled, which uploads highscores to awebpage. But, since the program is opensource, it is trivial to fake a highscore.

Other features[]

  • Precise scoring (number of lines removed with 1,2,3 or 4 lines at once)
  • Arcade mode
  • Versus mode, with up to 4 players, each of whom can be human or CPU (when ptiching two or more cpus against each other, they will play identicaly).
